Overnight: Windhoek
Welcome to Namibia.
On arrival at Hosea Kutako International Airport, your private guide will meet you and transfer you to your accommodation in Windhoek.
For self-drive guests, we'll coordinate the agreed vehicle collection arrangements and provide your itinerary information.
Depending on your arrival time, you can explore the city or simply relax after your international flight.
We recommend spending your first night in Windhoek rather than beginning a long-distance journey immediately after arrival.
Today's highlights: Arrival in Namibia, Windhoek and a relaxed first evening.
Overnight: Sesriem / Sossusvlei area
After breakfast, travel southwest towards the Namib Desert.
The landscape gradually changes as you leave the central highlands and descend towards the desert plains.
Depending on the chosen route, you may pass through scenic mountain passes and the small settlement of Solitaire.
Allow approximately five to six hours of driving, excluding longer stops.
Arrive at your desert lodge during the afternoon and enjoy the surrounding scenery.
The following morning begins early, so we recommend a relaxed evening.
Today's highlights: Scenic desert landscapes, mountain passes and the journey into the Namib.
Overnight: Sesriem / Sossusvlei area
Today is dedicated to exploring the Namib Desert's famous dunes.
An early start allows you to experience the landscape in the softer morning light.
Travel into the Namib-Naukluft National Park towards Sossusvlei.
Visit Deadvlei, where dark camelthorn trees stand against the white clay pan, surrounded by towering red dunes.
Depending on your interests and fitness, you may choose to climb Dune 45 or attempt the more challenging Big Daddy dune.
The final sandy section towards Sossusvlei requires a suitable 4x4 vehicle or use of the designated shuttle.
After exploring the dunes, return towards Sesriem.
If time and temperatures permit, visit Sesriem Canyon before returning to your lodge.
Today's highlights: Deadvlei, red dunes, desert photography and Sesriem Canyon.
Overnight: Swakopmund
After breakfast, continue through the Namib Desert towards Namibia's Atlantic coastline.
The route passes through wide gravel plains and dramatic desert scenery.
Depending on the chosen road, you may travel through the Gaub and Kuiseb regions.
Allow approximately five to six hours for the journey, plus sightseeing stops.
As you approach the coast, the air becomes cooler and the landscape changes again.
Arrive in Swakopmund during the afternoon.
This charming coastal town offers comfortable accommodation, restaurants, cafés and a variety of activities.
Enjoy a walk along the waterfront or explore the town centre before dinner.
Today's highlights: Desert landscapes, scenic road journey and arrival at the Atlantic Ocean.
Overnight: Swakopmund
Today is reserved for exploring Namibia's coast.
One of our recommended activities is a private Sandwich Harbour 4x4 excursion.
Sandwich Harbour is famous for its enormous dunes rising beside the Atlantic Ocean.
Travel with an experienced local guide through the coastal desert, enjoying scenic viewpoints and photography stops.
Access to particular sections depends on tides, weather and operating conditions.
Other available activities may include:
We recommend selecting one main activity so you have time to enjoy the experience.
Your chosen excursion will be confirmed as part of your personalised itinerary.
Today's highlights: Atlantic coastline, optional Sandwich Harbour excursion and coastal activities.
Overnight: Damaraland / Twyfelfontein area
Leave Swakopmund and travel north towards Damaraland.
The scenery changes from coastal desert plains to rocky mountains, dry river systems and wide-open landscapes.
Depending on the route, you may travel through Henties Bay, Uis or the wider Brandberg region.
Damaraland is known for its rugged scenery, ancient cultural sites and desert-adapted wildlife.
Allow approximately four to six hours of driving, depending on your lodge and sightseeing stops.
Arrive at your accommodation during the afternoon and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
Today's highlights: Desert scenery, Brandberg-area landscapes and Damaraland's rugged mountains.
Overnight: Damaraland / Twyfelfontein area
Spend today exploring Damaraland.
Visit Twyfelfontein, Namibia's first UNESCO World Heritage Site, known for its ancient rock engravings.
A guided walk provides insight into the site's history and significance.
Damaraland is also home to desert-adapted elephants that move through the region's dry river systems in search of food and water.
Depending on the season, elephant movements and your accommodation, you may join a guided tracking excursion with an experienced local guide.
Sightings are not guaranteed.
Other possible attractions include the Organ Pipes, Burnt Mountain and Petrified Forest.
Because activities take time, we'll help you choose the most suitable combination rather than rushing between every attraction.
Today's highlights: Twyfelfontein rock engravings, desert landscapes and optional elephant tracking.
Overnight: Etosha area
After breakfast, travel towards Etosha National Park.
The journey takes you from Damaraland's rocky desert scenery towards the open plains and wildlife areas of northern Namibia.
Allow approximately four to five hours for the transfer, depending on your lodge and chosen park entrance.
After arriving at your accommodation, there may be time for an afternoon game drive.
Etosha is known for its waterholes, where animals gather to drink, especially during the drier months.
Depending on your accommodation, you may also have access to an illuminated waterhole after sunset.
Today's highlights: Scenic transfer, first Etosha wildlife sightings and waterhole viewing.
Overnight: Etosha area
Spend a full day exploring Etosha National Park.
On a private guided safari, your guide will plan the day's game-viewing route according to conditions and your interests.
Self-drive guests can explore the park's designated roads and waterholes independently.
Etosha supports a wide variety of wildlife, including elephants, giraffes, zebras, lions, rhino and numerous antelope species.
Wildlife sightings depend on the season and animal movements.
We recommend an early start and allowing time to wait at waterholes rather than trying to cover too much distance.
Return to your accommodation before the relevant gate closing time.
Today's highlights: Game drives, wildlife photography and Etosha's famous waterholes.
End of safari: Windhoek
After breakfast, begin the journey back to Windhoek.
Depending on your overnight location, allow approximately five to six hours or longer for the return drive, excluding extended stops.
Private guided guests will be transferred according to their confirmed arrangements.
Self-drive travellers will return their vehicle at the agreed location.
Because this is a substantial travel day, we recommend an afternoon or evening international departure with enough time for the drive, airport procedures and check-in.
For an early departure flight, we recommend adding another night in Windhoek.
Your 10-day Namibia safari ends with memories of the Namib Desert, Atlantic coast, Damaraland and Etosha's wildlife.

The dry season is popular for wildlife viewing in Etosha.
Vegetation is often thinner, and animals may gather around waterholes.
Mornings and evenings can be cold, particularly in desert and inland regions.
Popular lodges can book out well in advance.
Summer brings warmer temperatures and the possibility of rainfall.
Some landscapes become greener, and Etosha can offer excellent birdlife.
Wildlife may be more dispersed after rainfall, and some gravel-road conditions can change.
Swakopmund's coastal climate is often cooler than the inland regions.
We can help you select suitable accommodation and activities for your preferred travel dates.

We can adapt it in several ways:
More wildlife: Add an extra night in Etosha.
More coastal activities: Spend another night in Swakopmund for Sandwich Harbour or marine excursions.
Luxury accommodation: Upgrade selected lodges and guesthouses.
Photography: Allow more time at the dunes, scenic viewpoints and waterholes.
Family travel: Adjust accommodation, driving distances and activities.
A more relaxed journey: Extend the safari to 12 or 14 days.

For first-time visitors, we recommend combining the Namib Desert, Atlantic coast, Damaraland and Etosha National Park. This offers a balance of landscapes, wildlife and activities.
Both are excellent options. A private guided safari offers local knowledge and convenience, while self-drive allows greater independence. The best choice depends on your travel preferences.
Not for every section, but a suitable high-clearance vehicle or 4x4 is recommended for a self-drive journey involving long gravel-road sections.
